Profile of the Translator

Profile summary

Grown up in Quebec, Multilingual, people-oriented, highly efficient in managing translation projects with team of translators.

Education:

Fluent in French, Spanish, German, and English; ÉLÉONORE has done her studies at the University of Toronto and the University of Bonn in West Germany.

Experiences as a tanslator

J. Éléonore began handling translation of a variety of private and confidential documents from English into French and French into Englishtranslations during her 30-year career as an executive assistant to CEOs of international and national corporations.

Realization of a true translator

"When the material was not sensitive, I would send the translation to the company's Translator and review the material when it came back on behalf of the CEO," Éléonore said.

"I discovered that in many cases, we would get back a word-for-word translation of the English we sent out. Having grown up in Quebec speaking French, I knew that the word-for-word translations would often fail to convey the precise meaning that the CEO was taking great pains to convey in English."

" It was during those years that I gradually realized the opportunities that existed for a translation service that was dedicated to culturally accurate translations."

Goulet, the entrepreneur

Entrepreneurial by nature, J. Éléonore decided more than 20 years ago to launch her own business providing high-end services in translation, first working evenings and weekends and then making it her full-time career.

"Translators are a special kind of people," she said. "They love language and books and often enjoy working on their own and at their own pace. Whereas I like to work with people and organizing things to get them done on time and exactly right."

"So I decided to create a company that would hire translators who meet the highest of standards. My role is to find the work, handle most of the interactions with the client, manage the project to ensure that the finished product meets corporate and cultural standards, and keep everyone happy."

Her Work Force of Translators and Proofreaders

Éléonore Goulet has a team of about 15 translators and proofreaders. Each one has unique skills and many have fascinating backgrounds.
